What makes you different from all the other photographers out there?

Having a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Art with a concentration in Graphic Design my eye looks for unique angles, textured backgrounds, vibrant colors and the overall shape and feeling of the images. I am also fun, calm and hard working.

In three words, how would you describe your style of photography?

Artistic, natural and intimate.

How long have you been doing this?

I have been taking photos since I was in grade school, shooting professionally after graduating from the University of Wisconsin - Stout in 2002 and I have been capturing photographing professionally since 2008.

How much will it cost to hire you as my professional photographer?

I know it sounds a little cliché but it really depends on a number of factors. I can tell you that my portrait packages usually run between $250 and $500 and my wedding packages typically run between $1,600 and $4,000. Please contact me to visit about your photography needs and I will be happy to let you know the cost prior to taking your photos.

Are we going to be able to afford this?

I have a variety of different packages and hourly options. W e also accept credit cards and offer payment plans to make this investment easier on your wallet. Your wedding photographs are one of the only things (besides your new spouse) that you take with you from your wedding day - they preserve your memories forever. Contact me to chat about the different options.

What do your packages include?

Each wedding package comes with a consultation, an online preview, light digital touch-ups and a print ordering/proofing website and the digital files. You can choose a package with an engagement session, one or two photographers and or an album plus more.
Portrait packages include a consultation, an online preview, light digital touch-ups and a print ordering/proofing website. You have the option to purchase the digital images as well.

Will you break up your packages or let me substitute one thing in a package for another?

The short answer is no. The reason being is that my typical rates are my ala carte rates that are listing on my pricing guide (request a pricing guide here). Much like other businesses, I'll give you a better value if you purchase multiple services and products at the same time.

Do you shoot more than one wedding per day?

I shoot only one wedding per day, so you receive my undivided attention.

How many photos do we get?

It really depends on the amount of time you have me shoot. On average my clients receive between 50 to 100 edited images per hour of coverage.

Will you travel to Timbuktu for my wedding?

Yes, I will travel anywhere…I love to travel! Depending on how far it is from home, I do have some fees to cover our extra mileage, time and perhaps hotel accommodations if needed. There are no travel fees within 40 miles of Maple Grove which covers the majority of the Twin Cities Metro. Contact me for info if your event is being held outside of our area.

Will you take my engagement photos even if you are unable to photograph my wedding?

Yes! Contact me at tracy@tracywalshphoto.com for details on my engagement photo options.

Do you photograph with Digital or Film:

Digital.

Do you shoot alone?

On engagement and portrait sessions usually it's just me. If purchased, can photograph weddings with another person who would assists with lighting and taking second angle shots.

How soon will I get my pictures back?

Within a few days, I typically post a few preview images on my social media pages. Final images are touched up one at a time. For weddings it takes about two to three months for me to work my magic on all the images. For portraits it takes about two weeks before you see the final images. Check out what some of my past clients have said about their photos on our testimonial page.

Will you have backup equipment with you?

Always. We have multiple cameras, lenses, batteries, flashes, memory cards…you name it, we have a backup!

What do you do in your spare time?

I love nature and being outside! I believe I got that from my parents. Canoeing in the Boundary Waters or hiking on the Superior Hiking Trail are favorites of mine. If I could choose anything to do on a Saturday (besides shooting weddings) I would sleep in, have brunch at Original Pancake House, play catch or color with my son, take a nap in a hammock, relax to the sound of the warm summer wind in the trees, go for a walk in the woods and then have a campfire with some drinks and good music surrounded by family and friends. Of course I would have a camera with me for all of this, (except the nap)!

Feel free to contact me anytime if you have any questions!
